Aging Backwards Wellness Functional Medicine · Dr. Benjamin Wright, DO

Let's uncover the why behind how you feel.

A one-on-one Discovery Consult — an unhurried conversation to explore what's really going on, and to decide together how root-cause, functional medicine care can help you get the answers you're missing.

Conventional visits are often rushed — fifteen minutes, a prescription, and out the door. Root-cause medicine takes a different path. It asks why a symptom is there in the first place, and looks at the whole picture: your history, your lifestyle, and the patterns underneath.

The Discovery Consult is where that begins — not with treatment, but with a conversation. It's a chance to be truly heard, to ask your questions, and to decide together whether working with Dr. Wright is right for you.

Meet Dr. Benjamin Wright, DO

Dr. Wright practices root-cause, functional medicine — care centered on understanding why the body is struggling, rather than simply managing symptoms one at a time. His approach is unhurried and physician-directed, built on listening closely and looking at the whole person.

For patients navigating complex or chronic conditions, that means care that takes the time to connect the dots — history, lifestyle, and the underlying patterns that conventional visits often move too quickly to see.

Our story

Why we founded Aging Backwards Wellness

Tami Wright, co-founder of Aging Backwards Wellness Tami Wright Co-founder
Dr. Ben Wright, DO, co-founder of Aging Backwards Wellness Dr. Ben Wright, DO Board Certified In Emergency Medicine & Functional Medicine

In 2015, I — Tami — was a mother of four young children when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Within months, I couldn't stand without help. I was missing family dinners and bedtime stories, and quietly beginning to prepare my children, and myself, for a future in a wheelchair. My labs, the whole time, kept coming back "normal."

I couldn't accept that simply managing my decline was the only path. So I dug in — into the research, the functional-medicine literature, the science of the gut, inflammation, and the body's capacity to heal. I prayed. And I began making changes no one on my medical team had ever mentioned: rebuilding my gut, calming the inflammation, supporting my body's energy, moving when I could and resting when I had to.

Within three years, I was playing tennis again. Eleven years after that diagnosis, I still play three times a week, and I chase my kids without fear. My follow-up scans confirmed what my body already knew — the course I'd been on had changed.

My husband, Ben, was the ultimate skeptic. As a board-certified emergency medicine physician, he was trained to trust protocols and studies, and when I started talking about gut health and inflammation, he met it — gently — with doubt.

Then he watched me stand up without help. Then drive again. Then he saw the imaging. As he puts it, at that point he had a choice as a physician: ignore what was right in front of him, or go back to the medical literature with new eyes. He chose to go back.

What he found there is the reason we built Aging Backwards Wellness — together — for the countless people we kept meeting whose labs were "normal" but whose lives were quietly falling apart. Root-cause, physician-guided, whole-person care, born out of the hardest season of our lives and carried through it by our faith.

"The American medical system is built to manage chronic illness, not resolve it. That's not a conspiracy — it's how we were trained." — Dr. Ben Wright, DO · Board-Certified in Emergency & Functional Medicine
